Dott Dotter is an accessibility designer in Berkeley, California.

Press to flip to one of my comics.

I help teams build accessibility into their design systems and everyday work. Most recently I was Docusign’s first Accessibility Designer, turning accessibility questions into tools, training, and shared practice.

After 25 years in design, I’m now independent: looking for my next accessibility role or project, and growing Revisible, a project for disabled artists.

Say hello

If your team needs an accessibility-focused designer, or you just want to say hello, I’d love to hear from you.

I’d love to hear from you.

Pick a topic

“What’s on your mind? Of course I’m interested in the intersections of art making and disability, but I’d also love to connect and learn from others on many topics. I’m listening!”

Who am I?

I’m Dott (they/them), a artist, storyteller, and accessibility designer. I care about making things that invite people in, whether that’s a comic, a creative community, or a more accessible experience.

  • Where I’m from

I grew up in Los Gatos, California, learning to draw with in my elementary school’s computer lab, on Apple IIs donated by Steve Wozniak. When I moved to the Santa Cruz Mountains as a kid, I learned to draw comics and explored the forests, finding different ways to follow my curiosity.

  • What I make

I make drawings, comics, and stories that mix everyday feelings with a little strangeness and humor. Right now, I’m drawing through Inktober and putting energy into Revisible, a project for disabled artists.

  • What keeps me going

Time with my daughter, everyday moments with my partner, and walks that give my thoughts somewhere to go. Making something, even a small drawing, helps me reconnect with myself.

  • Small joys

My morning rituals of writing and drawing, and spending time with Meow Meow.

  • Ask me about

My dad and his community gardening legacy, Toast Orchestras, Disability Pride, and making art for an audience of one.
